marylandCongratulations, Maryland property owners! You live in a state that supports property tax solar financing.

How does solar financing in Maryland work?

The State of Maryland authorizes a county or municipality to establish a Clean Energy Loan Program to provide loans to residential and commercial property owners for the financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The property owner repays the loan through a surcharge on the property tax bill.

That sounds great! How is Maryland able to do this?

Thanks to Maryland’s HB 1567 law, property owners statewide can participate in such county- or city-run programs.

Is solar financing available now?

Annapolis and Montgomery County are respectively working on setting programs up. Keep your eye out for similar programs popping up around Maryland!
